V/D/C NEWS:
Air India, India's national carrier, has unveiled a new brand identity, including a new logo, branding, and plane livery. The new look was designed by FutureBrand, a global brand consultancy firm.
The new logo is called "The Vista" and is inspired by the iconic Indian window shape that has been used by Air India for many years. The logo is a gold window frame with a peak at the top, which represents limitless possibilities, progressiveness, and a bold and confident outlook for the future.
The new branding uses a palette of deep red, aubergine, and gold highlights, as well as a chakra-inspired pattern. The branding is designed to be modern and sophisticated, while still reflecting Air India's Indian heritage.
The new plane livery is also a departure from the old look. The planes are now painted in a deep red with gold accents, and the tailfin features the new logo. The new livery is designed to be more eye-catching and to make Air India's planes stand out on the tarmac.
The new brand identity is part of a broader transformation of Air India. The airline is in the process of acquiring new aircraft and upgrading its in-flight services. The new brand identity is intended to reflect Air India's new ambitions to become a world-class airline.
The new brand identity was unveiled on August 12, 2023, by Air India Chairman N Chandrasekaran. He said that the new brand "captures the essence of bold new India, which marks a milestone in the journey of Air India."
The new brand identity will be rolled out gradually over the next few months. The first aircraft with the new livery will enter service in December 2023.
