The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar has entered the World Book of Records (London) as Asia's largest such park. The garden is adorned with 1.5 million tulip bulbs from an ensemble of 68 distinct varieties. It is located in the foothills of the Zabarwan mountains and is spread over 30 hectares. The garden was opened in 2007 with the aim of boosting floriculture and tourism in the Kashmir Valley.
The garden is divided into different sections, each of which is dedicated to a particular type of tulip. There are sections for single tulips, double tulips, parrot tulips, and lily-flowered tulips. There are also sections for tulips of different colors, including red, yellow, pink, purple, and white.
